Wheel thrown pear form with hand sculpted hummingbird and flora motifs. Airbrushed matte glazes fired to maturity in an oxidation kiln. Signed and dated.

Dispensing with all function other than sculptural, I decided to throw the pear form and then add the hummer. This piece is carefully balanced and so lovely, capturing the delicacy of the hummingbird with the suggestion of the ripe pear.
